Before the wedding we did spend one (hot) day wondering around Dow Gardens. We had the new lens, and just walked the trails before heading to Mt. Pleasant to visit Central Michigan University. Dow Gardens had gotten much larger since last we went!
We found this rather ragged monarch butterfly in the test garden.
The new lens made a nice solid green background from the grass (because it isn't in focus).
Monarch sunning itself in the hot Michigan October weather.
A bumble bee decided that this flower was for it - fought with the monarch over it - Monarch won.
Brad caught the bee in mid-air! (running away from the butterfly =) )
Wolf spider on a rose.
Brad in the childrens garden - being silly and oh so cute!
What a ham! =)
Have no idea what kind of fruit or nut this is, but kinda cool.
This mushroom is growing out of where a branch was.
