Midnight Sun Cache
The Midnight Sun cache is just a bit out of the town Central.  There a few trees, many big hills / mountains and so much beauty.  This very short hike is tied as my favorite hike in Alaska  (tied with Quartz Creek).  Brad and I hope to come back after it snows and get some pictures flying our kites =).  There is a 27 mile hike between Eagle Summit (across the "road" and 12 Mile Mountain), but Brad and I think that hike may be a bit beyond our skill for this year!  The flowers from the wayside park can be seen here.
Dall Sheep or White Rocks?
Rock Ptarmigan
Heather and Cache.
Yet ANOTHER Lady Bug Kids Signature item! When it rains it pours Ladybugs =).
Beautiful tundra.
Sun light breaking through the clouds in the distance.
It was kinda strange looking at the photos because those hills were actually much farther away than they look here.
The colors were much more brilliant than they look here =(.
If it hadn't been so cloudy the colors would have shown up better.
Warm Heather!
Heather was warmer than Brad - not sure why.
His coat was thicker, but Brad was FREEZING. =)
Very rocky terrain.
It was also very windy.
Here is a picture that shows the kind of distances I was talking about - Look at the TINY vehical.
The highway, yes highway, below.
Old (they grow very slowly here), small trees.
Across the "street" from the cache is a wayside park - Eagle Summit. This picture was taken at the park towards the area of the cache.
