Chena Dome was our first try a Geocaching. The cache is about 8 miles in, which we thought shouldn't be too bad. HA! Hiking in Alaska is nothing like hiking in Michigan. Michigan is for the most part flat. Many Alaska hikes start with a good half mile of straight uphill! We did not make it to this cache, in addition to being to far, part of the trail had been burnt out last summer (2004) and we lost the trail. It was a nice hike though.
