Our drive from O'Hare in Chicago, Illinois to Troy, Michigan was not the funnest drive. It had been awhile since we were in Chicago, so we printed off mapquest directions. Brad made sure to pick the shortest route directions and noticed there was a toll-road, which was good. The quickest way out from O'Hare is mostly toll-roads. Unfortunately, that was the only toll-road and the directions had us go through the heart of Chicago downtown <sigh> IN construction, IN after work traffic. Then once we got out of Chicago and it started to get dark, it poured rain... and not the the oh is it pouring rain of Alaska - the lightning full, can't see a car length ahead of you Michigan pouring rain, and I forgot how shiny the roads get when they are wet in Michigan - the glare was incredible. So we stopped during the worst of the rain at a rest stop, parked in the CAR only parking lot, and decided to use the time for a nap. We woke up to see a semi-truck backing up towards us - he couldn't see us in the dark, and when we turned our headlights on, he braked hard! So that was one accident averted!

| Lightning - taken from inside the car with a longer shutter time - which is why the car lights are lines. Cool shot! |
